9•22 CML DAY
Proclamation and Seminar
On September 22nd 2011, Catholic Comprehensive Cancer Institute, Korea science reporter society, and Seoul St. Mary¡¯s hospital¡¯s Leu-mountain hosted the proclamation of CML DAY as stated below. Chronic Myeloid Leukemia is a disease that occurs due to the result of a reciprocal translocation between the long arms of chromosomes 9 and 22, which is why September 22nd has been chosen as CML day. This day has been planned to forward the most recent knowledge on curing and managing the disease as well as teach the importance of prescribing target antitumor agents through an event and seminar.
This event, which had been planned last year, will start from this year to be held in main hospitals all around Asia in purpose of increasing the complete recovery percentage of Asian patients.
